Gaming vests are new gadget discovered by the computer game industry. It takes interactive electronic games to a new height. Launched by a company called TN games the vests are called 3rd Space FPS (first person shooter) vests.

To avail the sensation of the vests one needs to have Window XP and should have 512MB minimum memory. It was introduced in 2007 as a video game accessory.

The gaming vests strive to introduce realism in the video game. Wearing the vests the players can feel every kick or punch delivered on the screen on their own body, minus the pain. The impact of the bullets too can be felt in a unique way.

The player can feel the impact of the bullet or a kick on the chest or at the back. At times these sensations come as a surprise when a killer creeps up on you. It is an unimaginable feeling.

You might be worried about the pain when your chest or back experiences the hit. The amazing thing is that it is a sensation and nothing more serious than that. It is just a gentle force or a thump making the visual game more realistic.

Invented by a medical professional

Interestingly, the gaming vests were discovered by a doctor named Ombrellaro for the medical profession. In fact it gave advantage to the patients to explain their pain symptoms to the doctor on the phone.

The patient would wear the vest and doctor on the other side of the phone would activate the air pockets in the vests at different points of the body. This would allow the doctor to detect where the patient feels the pain.

The same concept is applied in developing the gaming vests. The vest has a socket where you put in one end of the plug.

The other end goes into your PC. An air compression pump is also provided to keep the air pouches suitably activated and working.

There are 8 air pouches in total in these vests. There are four in the front and four at the back.

These air pouches fill up with air and let the player feel the sensation of a hit in the exact area which is visible to the player on the screen.

If the hit is on more than one area of the body then the exact numbers of air pouches fill up to give the sensation of the hit. The other pouches will remain inactive in the mean time.

Before buying the vests one has to find out the compatibility of the vests with the games. Only for certain games you can use the vests. Also, you should know which size to buy.
