Top 10 PC & console games for realism
So you are a realism nut – I am too. We cannot help but to love a game that feels and acts real. Buildings, people, things and the way we interact with them is always something to look forward to.
Add in peripherals like light guns, dance pads and force feedback gaming vests and we have an entirely new experience, possibly with some old favorites like DOOM.
But what games offer the most realistic gameplay? Good question – now for the answer with our list of the top 10 PC & console games for realism:
#10: Gran Turismo
I am not a racing fan. Really – I am not… I find it kind of boring and trite, but I think that racing games are some of the most realistic games you can play – if that is your thing of course.
Out of all of the racing games on the market the most realistic of them all has got to be Grand Turismo 4. The tracks and cities are to scale and the cars perform to industry standards including drag, speed and aftermarket upgrading.
#9: The Sims
You cannot talk about games and realism without talking about The Sims. Obviously The Sims is not a game of realistic graphics or sound or anything of that sort but it is realism in the sense that you are creating a person (or group of people) who interact on a psychological basis.
#8: Rock Band
Rock Band is a love of my life – I have to admit. It is quite a fascinating game and if music is your thing than definitely Rock Band is for you especially if you have a couple of friends. Start on easy and work your way up. If you can pass songs on hard then you can feasibly play the actual songs on real instruments.
#7: Assassin's Creed
Assassin’s Creed, in my opinion, is one of the best games currently on the market. The people are perfectly rendered, the fight scenes are unbelievable and the to scale landscapes are beyond breathtaking.
#6: F.E.A.R:
First Encounter Assault Recon is a game of paranormal intrigue where you are an agent asked to rescue some hostages but wow – look what you find – poltergeists! The buildings are beyond real – everything to scale and the visual expanse is gripping.
#5: Half-Life 2
Half-Life 2 is the sequel to one of the best games in the world. Nothing spells action more than disease outbreaks surrounding evil aliens.
#4: HALO
HALO is known the world over as a sc-fi game (soon to be a movie) that is so expansive that it will take hours upon hours to complete with an enriching storyline and character development.
#3: Clive Barker’s Jericho
Clive Barker’s Jericho is one of those games that scare the pants off of you if you play it in the dark. The surreal background landscapes and sound track can really take hold and grip you.
#2: Medal of Honor: Airborne
Medal of Honor: Airborne is such a visually breathtaking game with scenarios true to facts. You are a Paratrooper trying to turn the tide of WWII. The world and all of the points are to scale and are steeped in historical.
#1: Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare offers intense action in a modern world utilizing current politics in a twisted sort of world. True to life fighting, weaponry and a world completely to scale of their real world counterparts.
